Welcome to Charles Brooker Framing. I started framing pictures a few years ago in the Scottish Borders after complaining that all the things I needed to get framed would cost me a fortune and was told to do it myself. So I did!

After reading countless books, internet forums, YouTube videos and mountains of practice later I feel I have mastered my equipment I am able to offer my services to the public and due to low overheads, feel I can offer exceptional quality for significantly lower than high-street prices, especially when it comes to orders of multiple items.

I am obsessive about conservation practices and try to use materials and methods that will prolong the life of the artwork. If you would like to discuss this, I can go into tremendous, tedious detail about pH levels, lignin and UV rays and we can work out what is best for your piece.

In my experience of getting art framed I was often disillusioned with conversations I would have with framers trying to get a rough idea of costs - responses like “how long is a piece of string” and then the endless upselling of features like ArtGlass and conservation backing board left my head spinning. I have worked hard to develop a method of pricing work so I am not trying to push customers into decisions like that.
